School Districts That Haven’t Used All Their Federal Stimulus Aid May Get More Time

The Texas Education Agency is inviting school districts to advise whether the agency should seek an available waiver allowing districts more time to use up any unexpended federal stimulus dollars from fiscal 2009. If your district failed to obligate the use of all its allotted fiscal 2009 grant money by the end of last month, it could still get a reprieve if TEA seeks and obtains the waiver. For more information, in case your district needs any prodding, see the TEA guidance letter to administrators posted on October 19 at this link:  http://ritter.tea.state.tx.us/taa/arra10192011.html.
